Like what I have posted earlier, the printed media in Malaysia is currently losing out to the Internet media. You can see from the results from the recent by election in Permatang Pauh because the campaign battle was fiercely done from the Internet. People among my peers are not even bothered to read the newspapers anymore. It is made worst by fact Printed Media is heavily regulated by the Government. Most of them switched to the Internet media when they are seeking news coverage on the election. After the election result the ruling government finally acknowledged that they have lost the cyber war and ordered most Malaysian ISPs to block the controversial Malaysia-Today.net. However, Internet savvy people will always find a way to bypass the wall anyway. Whether they like it ornot, the internet has played a big role in creating political awareness among Malaysian.
